setting up photo shoot 1/25

The hardest part of the photo shoot was finding a place to set up the backdrop since it would only cover a part of the wall. I had to be precise and find the perfect angle when taking the pictures. I struggled the most with the lighting. After taking a couple of pictures I noticed that they were coming out really dark and the subject of the picture wouldn't really stand out from the backdrop. Therefore, I borrowed two ring lights from a friend and placed them facing the subject in each side of the backdrop to crate a shadowy effect on the model while allowing enough light to make certain features stand out. My pictures came out with good quality because I had the advantage to use a professional camera and learn tips from my older sister, who is really good at photography.

These pictures worked perfectly for the cover and the spread pages. However, I didn't plan the photo shoot before hand and I didn't calculate the amount of pictures I needed and ended up taking less. Therefore, I realized I had the pictures for my cover and spread but I didn't have any for my table of contents. Because the deadline for this assignment was soon when I realized, I had to plan another quick photoshoot to fill in for those pictures. Instead of setting up the backdrop again, I decided to just take the pictures in my room and use those for the spread pages since the design of the 'Vibe' magazine was pretty much a white background and multiple cropped pictures of the same model. And that's what I did, I took multiple pictures in different poses and cropped them using photoshop to paste them in InDesign into a white background.
