Table of Contents final draft

My table of contents is simple and easy to understand. The reader can easily find the titles and the page numbers next to them, followed by a short description of what the article is going to be about.

FONTS:
Since I modeled my magazine after the 'Vibe' magazine, I tried to use similar fonts to the ones from their magazine. For the main titles 'Features' and 'Fashion', I used an orange font in cursive to make it easily visible for the reader. In addition, for the sub-titles, I used a yellow font in all caps and in block letters to make them stand out next to the rest of the text. This also helps add a bit of color to my magazine.

COLOR THEME:
I used different color fonts because my background is black so instead I used yellow, orange and white for the fonts. I tried to find the closest color font to match the model's attire and keep an aesthetically pleasing look.

IMAGES:
I challenged the codes and conventions of other entertainment magazines by using one large picture as the main image of the table of contents. Instead of using multiple small images, I decided that it would fit best to just use one large picture and make use of the backdrop which worked perfectly to draw all the attention exclusively to the text and the artist.

Table of contents: Creative process

When doing research I found that multiple entertainment and music magazines had from 2-3 table of contents. For this reason I decided to create a two page table of contents.

CREDITS:
In the lower right corner I gave credits to the clothing brands that my model was wearing since other magazines did the same.

PAGE NUMBERS:
In the lower right corner I also added the page number in a bolder font to make is easily readable and I also added "DOPE" to remind the reader that they are reading the Dope magazine since I wasn't able to add a D behind the model like the 'Vibe' magazine added a 'V'.

The second page of my table of contents consists of the features and fashion aspects of the magazine. I also change the font of the main titles to make it easier for the reader to find what they are looking for.

Table of contents: creative process

Image:
I decided to take a mid body shot focusing on my model. The model's pose portray her as mysterious since you can only see the model's profile. Her facial expression adds on to her confident vibe.

Clothing:
To maintain the color theme consistent, the model wore the same clothes as the cover page. Her colorful pants definitely attract the audience.

I followed the codes and conventions of the Vibe magazine by using similar fonts. However,  I challenged the codes and conventions of this magazine by using my own font colors to match the colors of the outfit the model is wearing. I used a light yellow to make the important titles stand out and bright orange to add a little pop of color for the rest of the text.
